Job Description: Reliability Engineer

This Reliability Engineer role is part of the Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) organization, focusing on electrical and electronics assemblies for Missile, Reentry, and Support Equipment hardware.

Responsibilities:

• Develop reliability and maintainability predictions for electrical/electronic packages, systems, and support equipment using approved methodologies.
• Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) at the schematic (piece-part) and interface level.
• Support design reviews and present reliability results to management and customers.
• Review discrepancy documentation weekly for relevance to the organization.
• Provide electronics piece-part reliability support, including drawing reviews, parts control boards, and failure review boards.
• Collaborate with failure investigation teams and develop reliability/probabilistic assessments based on the root cause of flight and ground test anomalies/failures.
• Perform system level severity/likelihood assessments for test program trends and failures.

Typical Work Environment:

The Reliability Engineer will work primarily in a team environment, collaborating with other engineers, performing analyses, and creating presentations/reports. Travel may be required. Interaction with engineers, suppliers, quality personnel, production operations, program managers, customers, and customer consultants is expected.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
• Experience with reliability principles and practices
• Understanding of root cause analysis
• Experience with basic electrical circuit analysis using schematics to assess failure modes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Experience evaluating system-level impacts from component level data
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel as needed
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

Desired Skills:

• Experience in Reliability or Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge of probability, statistical concepts, and mathematical modeling
• Missile/aerospace related background or experience with reliability prediction according to industry standards (e.g., MIL-HDBK-217)
• Familiarity with FMEA/FMECA process and electrical circuit modeling/simulation tools
• Parts Engineering expertise and knowledge of MIL-PRF screening requirements
• Experience with product test, environmental and reliability testing or manufacturing engineering
• Systems engineering and production/support equipment design
• Experience with requirements development, system design, problem analysis and resolution, and integration and test
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Active Top Secret clearance
