Job Description
This is a Reliability Engineer position that involves developing, coordinating, and conducting technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs. The position requires a strong understanding of reliability engineering principles and practices, as well as proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer, and governmental agency reliability objectives.
• Conduct technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and DOE constructs.
• Recommend design or test methods and statistical process control procedures to achieve required levels of product reliability.
• Compile and analyze performance reports and process control statistics.
• Investigate and analyze relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes.
• Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards.
• Develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks.
• Propose changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.
• Determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing and specify minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.
• Identify and resolve electromechanical technical issues and hardware/software integration.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications.
• Analyze data to identify failure trends and recommend actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution.
• Interact with subcontractors, write reports and white papers, troubleshoot software/hardware integration, and participate in FRACAS, ESB, ECB, FRB, and DCRB.
• Recognize opportunities for improvement based on failure data.
• Learn hardware/software and troubleshooting skill sets.
• Interact with engineers, subcontractors, program managers and customers during the investigation, documentation, and resolution of system/test set failures.
This position requires a government security clearance and therefore US Citizenship is mandatory.
The position offers a flexible work schedule, including a 4×10 hour day with 3 days off per week, and the possibility of part-time remote work.
