NeuroPsych Regional Patient Access Manager, Connecticut | Neurocrine Biosciences

The Tone:
This is a regional full-time role for Neurocrine Biosciences, located in Connecticut. Neurocrine Biosciences is a leading biopharmaceutical company dedicated to discovering, developing, and commercializing life-changing treatments for patients with under-addressed neurological, psychiatric, endocrine, and immunological disorders. This role is vital for ensuring patients can access these critical treatments by providing field access support and education to healthcare professionals, accelerating their time to treatment, and maintaining a robust and efficient pharmacy distribution network.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Field Access Support: Provide comprehensive field access support services and education to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), helping to maximize patient access to Company products and accelerate time to treatment.
• Network Communication: Act as a primary point of contact, communicating with all Specialty Pharmacies, Closed Door Pharmacies (including Genoa), and the Patient-Physician Services (HUB partner) to support Neurocrine Biosciences marketed products in the U.S.
• Distribution Network Oversight: Build, maintain, and uphold the integrity of the Company’s pharmacy distribution network by conducting all vetting activities within an assigned geography, including communication of approval, denial, or removal from the network.
• Coverage Expertise & Education: Serve as a subject matter expert on regional and national payer coverage policies and processes, providing training and education to HCPs on payer specific coverage issues, documentation requirements, appeals processes, and Company patient financial support programs.
• Technology & Case Resolution: Introduce and support technology options like CoverMyMeds for electronic Patient Access (PA) submission, explaining payer criteria, forms, and processes (PA, Letter of Medical Necessity, appeals, step edits, formulary exception requests), while problem-solving and conducting case resolution for related coverage issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in pharma/biotech commercial operations, specifically with market access and specialty pharmacy.
• Experience: Six or more years of pharma/biotech commercial experience, including at least two years with specialty pharmacy/market access. Specialty product experience is preferred, particularly within the CNS therapeutic area.
• Skills: Strong understanding of specialty pharmacies, managed care, pharmacy benefit managers, and government payers and their impact on product access; excellent working knowledge of patient support programs including reimbursement and financial assistance; strong understanding of the prescription adjudication process; ability to communicate payer coverage criteria and prior authorization processes; excellent communication, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and project management skills; ability to travel overnight up to 60%.
• Bonus: A Master’s degree, MBA, PharmD, or PhD is preferred. Previous experience in other functions within pharma/biotech such as sales, management, marketing, or managed markets is also desired.
