The Role: Recruiting Intern
Summary
Pacific Seafood is actively seeking a detail-oriented, solutions-driven Recruiting Intern to provide critical support to our Processing Talent Acquisition team. This pivotal role focuses on significantly enhancing our data analytics capabilities and streamlining reporting processes. You will be instrumental in building insightful dashboards, automating data workflows, and contributing directly to recruiting activities, ultimately improving efficiency and visibility into our key hiring metrics.
Key Responsibilities
As a Recruiting Intern, you will engage in a diverse set of responsibilities, encompassing data analysis, direct recruiting support, and HRIS/compliance functions:
- Data Analytics & Dashboard Development:
- Gather and organize comprehensive recruiting data from various internal sources.
- Develop a master Excel form designed for seamless integration with Business Intelligence (BI) tools or Smartsheet.
- Create easy-to-read charts and dynamic dashboards to effectively visualize key recruiting metrics and trends.
- Automate reporting processes specifically tailored to the company’s unique hiring strategy, ensuring timely and accurate insights.
- Recruiting Support:
- Assist proficiently with posting job openings across various platforms and managing applicant tracking systems.
- Screen resumes to identify qualified candidates and expertly coordinate interview scheduling.
- Communicate effectively with candidates, providing timely updates and ensuring a positive experience throughout the hiring process.
- Support campus recruiting initiatives and assist with career fair preparation, representing Pacific Seafood professionally.
- HRIS & Compliance:
- Gain foundational knowledge of HRIS (Human Resources Information System) basics and assist with data entry and maintenance.
- Ensure the utmost accuracy and confidentiality of all candidate and employee data.
- Help maintain strict compliance with hiring policies and procedures, adhering to best practices and legal requirements.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance existing recruiting workflows and reporting efficiencies.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to implement best practices in talent acquisition.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and agility of the team.
What You Bring to Pacific Seafood
Required Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree, with a graduation date no later than June of 2026, in:
- Business Administration
- Human Resources
- Information Systems
- Or a closely related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, crucial for effective interaction with candidates and internal stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of HRIS systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Basic PC knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Power BI, Smartsheets).
- Prior data analytics & reporting experience.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
