Job Description
This is an opportunity for college students to join the Ignite Internship Program for the summer of 2026, located at Selective’s corporate office in Branchville, NJ.
The Ignite Internship Program is an 11-week, full-time experience designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the insurance industry. Interns will have the opportunity to level up their skills and knowledge by diving into a specific business area. The program offers exposure to the corporate environment through on-the-job assignments, team projects, interaction with senior leadership and executives, and a community volunteer day, all aimed at building meaningful relationships within the organization.
This specific internship is with Selective’s Records and Information Management team. This team is crucial for overseeing Selective’s policies, processes, and procedures related to identifying, maintaining, preserving, and destroying records and non-record information, as mandated by law, regulation, and business processes. This role offers students valuable skills in data organization, compliance, and digital transformation, which are highly applicable across various academic majors and essential in today’s data-driven professional landscape.
Please note, this is a hybrid position, requiring applicants to be within commuting distance of the Branchville, NJ location.
Responsibilities for the Records and Information Management Intern include:
• Conducting legal research and analysis on various insurance-specific and related topics.
• Providing written and oral responses to inquiries.
• Filing, locating, pulling, and classifying a variety of different materials.
• Assembling and arranging policies, documents, manuals, and presentations.
• Performing other duties in support of the department or function as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and Requirements:
• Must be a current college student (Class of 2026 preferred).
• Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
• Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred but not required.
• College credit can be earned depending on the intern’s institution’s requirements.
Education And Experience:
• High School Diploma is required.
• Ideal candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, possessing the ability to perform at a professional level.
Compensation and Benefits:
The internship offers a competitive total rewards package. The pay range is USD $21.00 – USD $24.00 per hour. The actual base salary may vary based on geographic location, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.
