Job Description: Recommendation Architecture Intern (Summer 2025)
TikTok’s Recommendation Architecture Team is seeking talented interns for a 12-week summer internship program starting in May/June 2025. Interns will be integral to the team, contributing fresh ideas and creative solutions. The internship aims to provide hands-on experience, developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A supportive environment includes social events and development workshops.
Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain high-performance online services for TikTok’s recommendation system, supporting various products (For You Feed, E-commerce, Social, etc.).
• Develop extremely efficient and reliable data pipelines for candidate generation, profile generation, training example generation, and real-time online training.
• Build a globalized, large-scale recommendation system.
• Design and develop high-performance computing frameworks and storage systems.
Qualifications:
• Minimum Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Commitment to a 12-week internship during Summer 2025.
• Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.
• Experience in programming (C, C++, Java, or Python).
• Effective communication skills, self-driven, and a sense of ownership.
• Plus: Projects or research experience in personalized recommendations, search engines, machine learning, distributed storage systems, or big data frameworks.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduation in December 2025 or later, with the intent to return to studies after the internship.
Compensation:
The hourly rate range for this position is $42.75-$42.75. Benefits include day-one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, 10 paid holidays per year, and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in the first half of the year, 40 if hired in the second half). Benefits may vary depending on employment nature and work location. The company reserves the right to modify benefits.
