The TL;DR
• Role: Receiving Associate
• Team: Works as a key member of the Sam’s Club team, collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and business partners.
• Mission: To ensure the efficient and accurate handling of all inbound and outbound merchandise while maintaining safety and company standards.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Shipments: Process inbound and outbound merchandise shipments for the Club, including developing schedules, compiling reports, verifying counts, and routing merchandise.
• Receiving Operations: Receive and organize merchandise for the facility, maintaining the receiving area according to company procedures and utilizing equipment appropriately.
• Claims Management: Track and process claims by returning damaged goods, handling liquidation merchandise, and maintaining the clearance area with technology-assisted documentation.
• Facility Safety: Maintain the safety of the facility by adhering to all safety standards, conducting safety sweeps, following forklift spotting and hazardous material procedures, and reporting unsafe situations.
• Compliance and Improvement: Uphold company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, and complete work assignments by identifying priorities, collaborating, and addressing improvement opportunities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be 18 years of age or older, with an understanding of efficient merchandise handling and receiving operations.
• Experience: Forklift Certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of job entry date.
• Skills: Merchandise verification, organizational practices, documentation and reporting, safety compliance, and proper equipment utilization.
