The Real Estate Management Internship
Our Real Estate Management Internship is a comprehensive 10-week paid program designed to provide students with a holistic understanding of property management. Interns will rotate through various aspects of property management at an assigned community, gaining hands-on experience in:
- Leasing
- Assistant Manager roles
- Managerial responsibilities
- Maintenance operations
- General Operations
- Corporate functions (for select locations)
Interns will be mentored by a senior leader at Trinity Property Consultants and will have the opportunity to work directly with our leadership team on assigned, real-world special projects.
Compensation
$17-19/hour
Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of an assigned intern Mentor, the intern will play a crucial role in helping residents find their way and their home through the Internship Program. Participants will work side-by-side with our team of professionals to create thriving and captivating living experiences for renters nationwide. Our dynamic portfolio is experiencing rapid growth as we provide investors with ethical investment opportunities, all while on our mission to improve communities through renovation projects. We are seeking interns with an entrepreneurial spirit and a can-do attitude to collaborate with our management teams across the nation. Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Practice sales techniques
- Execute in-house and offsite marketing initiatives, including developing marketing analysis reports
- Learn and effectively use industry software programs
- Participate in property tours and site visits
- Acquire maintenance management proficiencies and techniques, including processing maintenance requests
- Provide superior customer service
- Complete market surveys
- Learn and demonstrate proficiency in the leasing process
- Process accounts receivable
- Provide clerical and phone support
- Maintain digital and paper records
- Maintain a community calendar of scheduled events
- Complete pre-inspections to ensure rent readiness
- Assist with legal evictions processes
- Practice critical resolution decision-making skills and demonstrate the ability to effectively resolve resident complaints
- Review the financial move-out process
- Perform additional tasks or duties as assigned by community leadership
Qualifications
Essential Skills
Candidates must possess an excellent ability to address the needs of community members, prospects, and vendors. Other essential skills include but are not limited to:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize wisely
- Strong customer service orientation
- A strong sales background
- Knowledge of state law as it relates to fair housing
- Ability to handle stress effectively
- Exhibit strong leadership skills
- Intermediate computer and internet knowledge, including proficiency with accounting and property management software programs, printers, telephones, fax machines, and photocopiers
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Learning and Development
Interns are expected to maintain a commitment to ongoing professional development and career growth through the Fowler Internship Program.
Education
- Enrolled in a 4-year accredited program, with Real Estate, Hospitality, or Property Management preferred.
- Sophomore year completed by the start of the Internship, preferred.
Requirements
- 1-year of work experience and/or extra-curricular activity involvement, preferred.
- Ability to fluently read and write English, accurately perform intermediate mathematical functions, and use all on-site resident management software functions.
Physical Demands
The intern will be regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach using feet, legs, back, arms, and hands. The intern may occasionally be required to climb. The intern will be required to work at a personal computer and talk on the phone for extended periods of time. Must possess the ability to detect auditory and/or visual alarms and be available to work extended/flexible hours and weekends as needed.
Attendance/Travel
Internship may require availability to work some nights and weekends. Regular attendance and active participation at company functions and events may also be required.
