Job Description: R&D Intern/Co-op (Detailed):
This is a full-time, paid internship or co-op opportunity located in Dalton, MA, starting January 2025. The role is within the Research and Development department.
Responsibilities: The intern/co-op will make a direct impact on the business by contributing to various projects, including:
• Conducting trials: This involves preparation, execution, and post-trial reporting.
• Lab experiments: Supporting ongoing research projects within the lab.
• Data gathering and report generation: Collecting and analyzing data, then producing comprehensive reports.
• Root cause investigation assistance: Using systematic methodologies to identify the root causes of issues.
Required Qualifications:
• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree program at an accredited institution. Major in Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science with a focus/minor in Paper Science is required.
• Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
• Prior work experience is preferred.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory, and candidates must demonstrate suitability for a Position of Public Trust due to government contract requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience converting large datasets into easily analyzable formats for trending, analysis, and visual reporting using MS Excel.
• Completion of at least one full year of college studies; rising Juniors or Seniors are highly preferred.
