R&D Intern

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Legend Biotech is seeking an R&D Intern to join the Research & Early Development team in Philadelphia, PA.

Role Overview

The R&D Intern will provide essential support to research activities primarily focused on cellular therapy and CAR-T technology. This dynamic role involves detailed analysis of the cytotoxic potential of CAR-T cells and other immune cells, comprehensive cytokine analysis, and the correlation of data across various donor variabilities. The intern will also play a key part in evaluating T cells generated with in-vivo CAR platforms and contribute significantly to data analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cytotoxicity assays and cytokine analysis utilizing MSD assay technology.
  • Analyze CAR-T cells, macrophages, and various other immune cells to determine their cytotoxic potential.
  • Correlate cytotoxicity data across multiple donors to identify trends and significant findings.
  • Support the evaluation of in-vivo CAR platform performance and efficacy.
  • Analyze experimental data thoroughly and prepare clear, concise reports for managers and the wider team.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, ensuring strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a college student (BS, MS, or PhD) in a relevant field such as Life Science, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, Cell Science, Biology, Virology, Molecular Biology, or any STEM discipline.
  • Desired Academic Grade Level: Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student.
  • Demonstrated interest in cellular therapy and immunotherapy.
  • Preferred Knowledge: Familiarity with CAR-T technology, virus design, or immune cell assays.
  • Ability to commit to a balanced work distribution: approximately 70% lab bench work and 30% desk work.
  • Possesses strong communication and organizational skills.
