Job Description:
R&D Intern
The R&D Intern will gain hands-on experience alongside Engineers and Scientists in developing ultraprecise quantum devices for applications such as autonomous navigation, high-bandwidth satellite communications, and geophysical exploration.
Responsibilities:
• Research & Development: Acquire and apply knowledge of quantum technology principles. Stay updated with new technologies and best practices.
• Manufacturing Support: Contribute to production through assembly and testing of components.
• Systems Engineering: Design, build, and test optical, electrical, and vacuum systems. Integrate electronic controllers with sensor systems.
• Testing & Measurement: Configure and operate test equipment. Develop and implement automated data collection procedures.
• Teamwork & Collaboration: Work closely within a small team to align goals and deliverables, fostering efficient project execution. Follow instructions and guidance from management.
Requirements:
• A full-time student with a minimum 1 year in college, pursuing a degree in STEM majors, preferentially in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Ability to solve complex problems and make decisions with a data-driven approach and a goal-oriented mentality.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
• U.S. citizen, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.
Compensation:
• The estimated hourly rate for this internship is $20 at the time of posting. Actual hourly compensation will be based on factors like location, experience, knowledge, and skills.
• This is an hourly, non-benefits eligible temporary-nonexempt internship position.
• Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
