## R&D Intern at The Hershey Company

This internship offers a unique opportunity to join The Hershey Company’s Research & Development team at their Technical Center in Hershey, PA. The team is responsible for driving innovation in the company by evaluating new technologies and ingredients to improve current processes and products. This includes researching new discoveries, taking product concepts from ideation to prototype, and scaling up these prototypes for commercialization.

As an R&D Intern, you will:

• Work independently and collaboratively: You will contribute to project assignments, working both independently and as part of various teams, interacting with scientists, product developers, marketing personnel, consumer researchers, and management.
• Explore different R&D areas: You will have the opportunity to gain experience in areas like product development, technical front-end innovation, process excellence, or sensory sciences.
• Apply your technical skills: You will be responsible for designing and carrying out experiments, analyzing data, reporting findings, and working with laboratory and pilot-scale equipment.
• Demonstrate leadership and problem-solving skills: You will be expected to contribute to the team by identifying and solving technical challenges, demonstrating data analysis skills, and presenting your findings effectively.

This internship is ideal for:

• Juniors or seniors: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Processing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Ag and Biological Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
