Ramp Agent | Delta Air Lines

The Tone:
This is an entry-level position at Delta Air Lines, located in Atlanta, GA. At Delta, connection is central to operations, striving to welcome and care for all customers during their travels by delivering an elevated experience. Every role is crucial for ensuring cargo is transported on time, safely. As a Ramp Agent, you will ensure customer baggage and cargo arrive safely and on schedule, contributing directly to the mission of timely and secure transport.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cargo Handling: Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft.
• Aircraft Guidance: Guide incoming and departing aircraft from gate positions to ensure timely connections.
• Security & Protection: Safeguard cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and adverse weather conditions.
• Ground Equipment Operation: Safely drive and operate ground equipment, including tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors, in congested areas.
• Baggage Routing: Operate baggage scanners and computers to accurately route baggage to customer destinations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency; is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States; proficiency in English.
• Experience: Holds a valid driver’s license; must pass a physical ability test (PAT); ability to hold airport-specific requirements such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal.
• Skills: Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data; embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles; physical ability to bend, lift up to 50-70 pounds, stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks in harsh weather conditions while wearing required company-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
