Job Description: Radiology Clinical Support Student

Presbyterian is seeking a Radiology Clinical Support Student to join their team. This position offers hands-on experience in a clinical setting, working alongside experienced professionals to support and enhance patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure imaging orders are correct and available for technologist review.
• Review scheduled procedures to ensure pre-procedure labs are ordered.
• Answer calls promptly and courteously, taking accurate messages.
• Transcribe, schedule, and reschedule patient examinations, documenting necessary information and providing prep information. Schedule other exams per pre-procedure provider protocol.
• Assist the imaging technologist and radiologist by contacting referring providers.
• Provide copies of imaging records and upload images in the PACS system for patients, adhering to HIPAA rules.
• Utilize Hospital (Epic) and Radiology (RIS, PACS) software programs to perform duties and ensure data entry accuracy.
• Transport patients to and from clinical areas.
• Clean and disinfect/ prepare and maintain patient examination rooms, holding bays, and waiting areas.
• Obtain lab results and check for allergies and implants prior to patients scheduled examination.
• Maintain established department policies, procedures, quality assurance, and safety.
• Check equipment supplies and accessories, maintaining stock for department examination rooms.
• Enhance professional growth through participation in education programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, or GED equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Actively enrolled as a student in an accredited Radiologic Technology program in preparation of registry (ARRT/ARDMS).
