The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person

• Team: Reports to a licensed Radiologic Technologist, the Radiology Supervisor, the Manager/Director of Imaging Services, and a Radiologist.
• Mission: To perform diagnostic radiology procedures and provide compassionate patient care, ensuring high image quality and compliance with patient care standards.
• Tech Stack: Basic computer knowledge

What You’ll Actually Do
• Diagnostic Procedures: Execute diagnostic radiology procedures efficiently and accurately.
• Image Quality: Perform radiographic imaging procedures while consistently obtaining optimal image quality.
• Patient Care: Provide personalized care, recognizing the worth and dignity of each patient.
• Quality Standards: Ensure compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from neonate to geriatric.
• Compliance: Perform all duties and responsibilities consistent with Mercy’s mission, vision, and values.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school graduate or equivalent; currently enrolled in the second year of a nationally accredited School of Radiologic Technology. Career level: Student.
• Experience: Not applicable; this role is designed for a student in their second year of a radiologic technology program.
• Skills: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ability to read and communicate effectively in English; basic computer knowledge; capability to manipulate radiology equipment, including mobile and specialized equipment; capability to select and manipulate exposure factors correctly; capability to lift, move, and transport patients safely; capability to recognize and respond to emergency situations promptly.
