Job Title: Queens District Attorney’s Office Summer 2026 College Internship

About the Internship:
The Office of the Queens County District Attorney is seeking applicants for its Summer College Internship program. This is a highly competitive internship designed to provide current college students with an outstanding opportunity to gain practical knowledge and learn about the functions of the Queens District Attorney’s Office, which serves the most diverse county in the country. Interns will work closely with Assistant District Attorneys, developing experience as advocates and fair-minded public servants.
Program Details:
- Duration: Approximately 9 weeks, running from June 8, 2026 through August 7, 2026.
- Work Schedule: Interns will work in person Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
Key Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities:
Interns will be assigned to a specific bureau and directly supervised by Assistant District Attorneys. Depending on the bureau assignment, interns will have the opportunity to engage in various aspects of prosecutorial work, which may include:
- Conducting research and writing assignments for pending cases.
- Assisting with motion and discovery practice.
- Supporting the preparation of search warrant applications.
- Observing proffers.
- Participating in civilian and police interviews.
- Making court appearances pursuant to the student practice order.
- Conducting crime scene visits.
- Engaging in community outreach programs with the Community Partnerships Division.
- Attending divisional and office-wide legal training sessions.
Bureau Assignments:
Interns will be assigned to a specific bureau within one of the following divisions:
- Investigations
- Criminal Practice and Policy
- Appeals and Special Litigation
- Major Crimes
- Supreme Court Trial Division
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in public service and criminal law.
