Quantitative Trader Intern Job Description
As a Quantitative Trader Intern at Tower Research Capital, you’ll be at the forefront of financial innovation, drawing on your knowledge of mathematics, computer science, and statistics. Your role will be critical in uncovering patterns within vast amounts of financial data and deploying profitable trading strategies in global markets.
Key responsibilities:
• Designing, implementing, and deploying high-frequency trading algorithms: You’ll be involved in the entire lifecycle of algorithmic trading, from conceptualization to deployment.
• Exploring trading ideas by analyzing market data and market microstructure for patterns: You’ll be tasked with identifying and exploiting market anomalies to create profitable trading opportunities.
• Creating tools to analyze data for patterns: You’ll develop innovative tools and techniques to efficiently extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.
• Contributing to libraries of analytical computations: You’ll be part of a team developing and enhancing analytical libraries that support market data analysis and trading.
• Developing, augmenting, and calibrating exchange simulators: You’ll contribute to the development and improvement of realistic exchange simulations used for testing and refining trading strategies.
This role requires:
• Discretion and independent judgment: You’ll be expected to make decisions and take initiative, showcasing your problem-solving skills.
• A strong foundation in:
• Mathematics
• Computer science
• Statistics
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages: C++ and Python are preferred.
• A working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for new technologies and ideas.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
Additional qualifications (not mandatory but valued):
• Past industry experience
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant
• Participation in relevant Olympiads
• Familiarity with machine learning, data analysis, market research, and data modeling
• Financial experience is not required, but interest in financial markets is a plus.
This internship offers:
• An anticipated weekly base salary range of $3,000-5,000 in New York.
