Job Description: Quantitative Trader Intern

As a Quantitative Trader Intern, you will utilize your knowledge of mathematics, computer science, and statistics to uncover patterns in vast amounts of financial data. You will then apply these insights to deploy profitable trading strategies in global markets.

Responsibilities may include:

Designing, implementing, and deploying high-frequency trading algorithms: This involves translating your understanding of market dynamics into code that can execute trades at high speeds.
Exploring trading ideas by analyzing market data and market microstructure: You will use your analytical skills to identify patterns and inefficiencies in market data, leading to potential trading opportunities.
Creating tools to analyze data for patterns: You’ll be responsible for developing software solutions to automate data analysis and identify potential trading signals.
Contributing to libraries of analytical computations to support market data analysis and trading: You will work collaboratively to build and refine tools and algorithms used across the firm.
Developing, augmenting, and calibrating exchange simulators: You will be involved in creating realistic simulations of trading environments to test the effectiveness of trading strategies.

Who They’re Looking For:

Tower seeks talented, driven, and ambitious individuals who are passionate about problem-solving and working in a collaborative environment. They are looking for candidates who:

• Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or related fields.
• Are proficient in an object-oriented programming language (C++ and Python preferred).
• Have a working knowledge of Linux/Unix.
• Possess past industry experience (a plus).
• Have experience as a Teaching Assistant and/or participation in relevant Olympiads (a plus).
• Are familiar with machine learning, data analysis, market research, and data modeling (a plus).
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities.
• Have a passion for new technologies and ideas.
• Are able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess strong communication skills.
• Have an interest in financial markets (financial experience is not required).
