Role: Quantitative Systematic Trading Intern

Overview:
As a Quantitative Systematic Trading Intern at Susquehanna, you will be immersed in projects that closely simulate the work performed by full-time employees. The internship is structured around a comprehensive education program complemented by personalized mentorship from leading professionals in the field, designed to build a strong foundational knowledge in quantitative finance. A key aspect of this role is the practical opportunity to build alphas on an actual trading strategy, providing real-world experience and impact.

Key Responsibilities and Activities (What You Can Expect):

Modelling: You will apply advanced techniques including probability theory, statistical analysis, and machine learning to predict market behavior and generate predictive alphas.
Execution: Develop and implement strategies to effectively execute on modelling ideas within a simulated competitive environment.
Evaluation: Conduct thorough backtesting of ideas using historical market data, followed by iterative revision of strategies based on performance analysis.
Breadth: Gain a wide understanding by exploring all facets of quant work and various business areas within Susquehanna.
Education: Participate actively in a structured and comprehensive education program, enhancing your theoretical and practical knowledge.
Mentorship: Receive personalized guidance and mentorship from experienced professionals, designed to significantly accelerate your professional growth.

Desired Qualifications (What We’re Looking For):

Education: Candidates must be PhDs (in their penultimate or final year) from quantitative fields such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, or Economics.
Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability as an analytical problem-solver with excellent logical reasoning and a genuine passion for transforming data into actionable decisions.
Communication Skills: Possess clear communication abilities, capable of thriving in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
Programming Proficiency:
• Comfortable processing and analyzing large datasets using Python.
• Experience with C++ (or another low-level language) is considered a significant plus.
Strategic Thinking: Exhibited interests in strategic games and/or competitive activities, indicating a strong aptitude for strategic thinking.
Work Ethic: Self-motivated and a quick learner, capable of thriving in dynamic and fast-moving environments.
