Job Description: Quantitative Strategy Development Summer Internship Program

This is a 10-week summer internship program specifically designed for highly motivated full-time students. The role is computationally intensive, requiring interns to leverage strong technical skills to address complex problems at the convergence of trading, quantitative analysis, and technology.

The program structure is a unique blend of structured education and practical, hands-on experience:

Deep Dive Education: Interns will receive comprehensive education about how financial markets operate, including a detailed exploration of Susquehanna’s unique approach to trading, delivered in a classroom setting. This ensures a strong theoretical foundation.
Challenging Projects: Participants will work on demanding projects for Susquehanna’s trading strategy development teams. Key areas of focus include:
Signal creation and detection: Developing methods to identify trading opportunities.
Quantitative strategy analysis: Evaluating and refining existing or new quantitative trading strategies.
Low latency C++ strategy development: Building high-performance trading strategies using advanced C++ programming.
Desk-Side Experience: A significant portion of the internship involves working directly on the trading desk, side by side with senior developers. This provides invaluable exposure to the practical nuances of building and implementing complex trading strategies in a live environment.

The program aims to provide the best possible preparation for a successful career in quantitative strategy development by combining rigorous theoretical learning with direct practical application.

Recruitment for this role is scheduled to begin in August.

What Susquehanna is Looking For:

Candidates should meet the following qualifications:

Education: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program with a major in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a closely related STEM discipline.
Graduation Timeline: Intention to graduate with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and be available to begin full-time employment by August 2027.
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated strong software development skills in both Python and a compiled language (e.g., C++).
Analytical Acumen: Possess exceptional quantitative, logical reasoning, and analytical skills.
