Quantitative Researcher Intern Job Description
Point72 IAC is looking for exceptional students to join their team as Quantitative Researcher Interns for Fall 2024 and Summer 2025. Interns will work closely with the team, receiving comprehensive, in-depth training while contributing to the development of novel trading signals that have real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
• Full Pipeline Signal Research: Participate in the entire research pipeline, from signal ideation through implementation and backtesting to eventual application.
• Machine Learning Expertise: Adapt and extend existing machine learning results, and conduct novel research to develop new signals that enhance portfolio returns.
• Data Analysis: Analyze vast datasets to extract features useful for predictive models.
• Research Support: Provide research assistance to the team.
• Infrastructure Improvement: Contribute to enhancing the team’s research infrastructure.
Desirable Candidates:
• Masters or PhD candidates in machine learning, computer science, finance, mathematics, or other quantitative disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research using machine learning on large, potentially noisy datasets.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
• Proficient in Python or C++ and comfortable working in a Linux environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to collaborate and foster a team-oriented research environment.
• Willingness to take ownership of work, demonstrating both independent and collaborative work abilities.
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards.
Compensation:
The annual base salary is $120,000-$180,000 (USD) which will be prorated based on the internship start and end date. Actual compensation may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors like geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
