Job Title: Quantitative Research Intern

What You Can Expect & Key Responsibilities:

  • Applying Advanced Quantitative Techniques: Utilize probability theory, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques to predict market behavior and generate novel alphas.
  • Strategy Execution: Develop and implement strategies to execute your modelling ideas, operating within a simulated competitive environment.
  • Rigorous Evaluation & Iteration: Backtest your ideas using extensive historical market data and continuously refine strategies based on performance analysis.
  • Broad Exposure: Explore diverse aspects of quantitative work across various areas of Susquehanna’s business.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Educational Background: PhDs (in penultimate or final year) in highly quantitative fields such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, or Economics.
  • Analytical Prowess: Proven analytical problem-solvers with excellent logical reasoning skills and a passion for transforming data into actionable decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and effective communicators capable of thriving in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient programmers comfortable processing and analyzing large datasets in Python; experience with C++ (or another low-level language) is a significant plus.
  • Strategic Acumen: Strategic thinkers with demonstrated interests in strategic games and/or competitive activities.
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, quick to learn, and capable of thriving in dynamic, fast-moving environments.
