Job Description: Quantitative Research Intern
Overview
The Quantitative Research Intern role at Susquehanna offers a unique opportunity to engage in projects that mirror the work of full-time quantitative researchers. What You Can Expect (Key Responsibilities & Experiences)
• Modelling: Apply advanced quantitative techniques including probability theory, statistical analysis, and machine learning to predict market behavior and develop strategies to generate alphas.
• Execution: Design and implement strategies to effectively execute on modelling ideas within a simulated competitive environment.
• Evaluation: Conduct rigorous backtesting of ideas using historical market data to assess performance and iteratively refine strategies.
• Breadth: Gain exposure to and explore all facets of quantitative work, along with different areas of Susquehanna’s diverse business operations.

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
• Educational Background: Candidates must be PhDs (in penultimate or final year) in highly quantitative fields such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, or Economics.
• Analytical Acumen: Possess strong analytical problem-solving skills with excellent logical reasoning abilities and a genuine passion for transforming data into actionable decisions.
• Communication Skills: Be a clear communicator capable of thriving in a fast-paced and highly collaborative work setting.
• Programming Proficiency: Comfortable with processing and analyzing large data sets using Python. Experience with C++ (or another low-level language) is a significant plus.
