Job Description (Detailed)

This is a Quantitative Master’s Summer Internship program designed for specialized master’s students in quantitative-disciplined curriculums.

Program Duration: Nine weeks.
Program Goal: To provide participants with insights into the day-to-day life and responsibilities of an Associate within BlackRock.

Internship Experience & Learning:

Real-World Responsibilities: Interns will be given actual responsibilities, providing practical experience.
Networking Opportunities: The program includes social and networking events to help interns build connections with future colleagues.
Comprehensive Orientation: The experience begins with an orientation covering:
• BlackRock’s mission, culture, principles, and purpose.
• Insights from senior business leaders.
• Formal training on the fundamentals of Investment Management.
• Understanding of the firm’s “One BlackRock” approach to client service.
Team Integration: Interns will join a specific team, working alongside experienced industry professionals.
Skill Development: Participants will develop subject-matter expertise through a combination of on-the-job learning and structured classroom sessions.
Growth Support: BlackRock provides the necessary opportunities and tools to stretch and develop interns, requiring only potential, an open mind, and a desire to learn from the applicants.

Who Can Apply:

Academic Background: Students currently enrolled in a master’s program in quantitative disciplines such as analytics, computational finance, financial engineering, mathematics, and/or other quantitative-disciplined fields.
Graduation Timeline: Candidates must be graduating between August 2026 and July 2027.
Prior Experience: Applicants should possess relevant pre-master’s work experience.

Important Application Information:

Application Limit: Candidates are permitted to apply for only one program (e.g., Quantitative Master’s Internship Program or Summer Internship Program).
Function Selection: Within the chosen program, applicants can select up to two functions (e.g., Investment Research and Analytics & Modeling). Both chosen functions must be applied for using the same program application.
Withdrawal Policy: If an application is withdrawn, the candidate cannot submit another application for this specific program in the same year.

2. Pre-Interview Assessment: Upon submission, you will receive an email containing a pre-interview assessment.
3. Assessment Deadline: You have up to five days from receiving the assessment email to complete and submit it. Failure to meet this deadline will result in the automatic withdrawal of your application.

Salary Range (Semi-Monthly Rate):

The salary rates for these positions are semi-monthly and vary by Business Area. For Washington state, specific ranges apply.

General Salary Ranges (Semi-Monthly Rate):
Client & Product Functions: $5,500 – $7,500
Corporate & Strategic Functions: $5,500 – $7,000
Investment: $6,500 – $8,500
Operations: $5,000 – $6,000
Technology: $6,500 – $8,000

For Washington State Only Salary Ranges (Semi-Monthly Rate):
Client & Product Functions: $5,000 – $6,500
Corporate & Strategic Functions: $4,500 – $6,000
Investment: $5,500 – $8,000
Operations: $4,500 – $5,500
Technology: $5,500 – $7,000
