The Internship Program
Graham Capital Management (GCM) is seeking a talented student for a Quantitative Finance and Computer Science intern position within its Quantitative Trading and Research Operations team. This is a paid internship offering a structured program that includes educational, skill-building, and networking events. Learning is a core aspect of GCM’s culture, actively integrated into the internship experience through daily collaboration, interaction with employees at all levels, and hands-on work with projects critical to the business’s fundamentals. The 9-week program will be fully in-person at GCM’s Rowayton, CT office.
Team & Responsibilities
The Quantitative Trading and Research Operations team provides crucial support to the Research team by developing and enforcing best practices, analyzing system financial and computational performance, and executing trades. Interns on this team can expect to gain familiarity with all team functions, with a particular focus on current initiatives such as:
- Trading system implementation
- Computational resource utilization
- Creating build and deployment processes
- Containerization
- Investigating cloud computing
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in a relevant quantitative field
- Strong Python skills
- Strong program design fundamentals
- Coursework or planned coursework in cybersecurity
- Comfort working in the command line on Unix
- Comfort using version control, such as Git
- Familiarity with JavaScript and HTML
- Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL
- Knowledge of R and MATLAB are helpful, as is familiarity with writing test cases
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Pay Range
The anticipated hourly rate for this position ranges from $40/hr to $55/hr. This range is based on information available at the time of posting. The actual hourly rate for a successful applicant will be determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, skills, and qualifications.
