Job Description
This is a Quality Engineering Co-op position with a specific focus on mechanical destructive testing.
Key Responsibilities (during the co-op period):
• Testing and reporting on results from mechanical testing.
• Utilizing core quality tools to assist with investigations into both customer-related and internal issues.
• Assisting teams and fostering involvement of all associates in lean practices and efforts.
• Data collection, entry, and analysis for improvement plans, including but not limited to productivity, total productive maintenance (TPM), downtime, scrap, and change over initiatives.
• Leading 5S efforts, encompassing planning, implementing, and supporting plant floor and maintenance activities.
• Performing cycle time studies to create and validate production standards, including standardized work.
• Contributing to process layout and material flow.
• Identifying and implementing cost and waste reduction activities.
• Recommending improvements to the manufacturing process.
• Assisting the quality lab in serial monitoring, failure analysis, and support of quality-related investigations.
Preferred Skills:
• A base understanding of measurement tools and devices.
• Knowledge of the problem-solving process.
• A strong understanding of Microsoft Office and all related programs.

• Self-motivated and proficient at following instructions.
• Willing to show up on time and ready for work on assigned days.
• Has had classes or been versed in material testing in school.
• Willing to be part of a team and work to complete assignments by scheduled deadlines.
Qualifications:
• Must be a currently enrolled, degree-seeking student from an accredited engineering program.
• Requires strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of computer application software such as MS Office, MS Access, Minitab, AutoCAD, and SAP (training will be provided if needed for SAP).
• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to work overtime when required.
• Must be organized and work well with constantly changing priorities.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
