About the Job
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Quality Engineer (Early Career) for Orlando, Florida. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing, modifying, applying, and maintaining quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials products. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineer or a related technical STEM degree, as well as familiarity with quality or global supply chain and the ability to travel.
Responsibilities
• Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place
• Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment
• Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment
• Conduct quality assurance tests
• Perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications
• Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
• Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements
• May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality
• May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineer or related technical STEM degree
• Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance
• Familiar with quality or global supply chain
• Ability to travel
Desired Skills
• Prefer mechanical or electrical engineering but open to other engineering and technical STEM disciplines
• Engineering or Quality experience developing methods, work instructions, and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products
• Able to interpret drawings and specifications to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods and able to translate into work instructions and/or PO notes
• Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
• Experience in disposition of non-conforming products
• Experience in establishing Performance Metrics for identifying process improvement
• Knowledge Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
• Knowledge of Configuration and Data Management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
