Job Description
Lockheed Martin is searching for a Quality Engineer Associate to join their team in Arlington, TX. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or technical (STEM) discipline from an accredited college or university, along with US citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance. The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and possess the ability to travel.
The Quality Engineer Associate will be responsible for:
• Reviewing documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes: This ensures that quality products are delivered to the customer.
• Supporting Supplier IPT’s and various production sites: This includes reviewing quality data on yields, rework, scrap, and non-conformance aging.
• Analyzing and resolving process issues: This encompasses issues ranging from basic to very complex.
• Attending and leading program corrective action meetings: This involves identifying trends, assisting in problem resolution, and ensuring responsible parties meet commitments.
• Participating as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards: This includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, and determining the root cause and corrective action to prevent recurrence.
• Performing assessments and audits on processes and procedures: This ensures compliance with specifications, engineering drawings, procedures, and ISO-9001/AS9100 standards.
• Evaluating design assurance activities and production process methodology: This aims to prevent impacts to production velocity and quality.
• Interfacing with customers, suppliers, and program personnel: This involves addressing quality-related issues.
• Utilizing lean initiatives: This focuses on reducing waste and maintaining continuous improvement.
• Making the final decision on the acceptability of products.
Desired Skills
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
• A technical degree, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
• The ability to organize and track multiple activities, prioritize tasks based on importance, review, interpret, and apply specifications to determine compliance with requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration.
• Demonstrated presentation skills, problem-solving skills, and effective communication skills (written, oral, listening, presentation, and technical writing).
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis tools.
• An understanding of Lean Six Sigma tools and processes.
• A basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance).
Work Schedule and Location
This position offers a 4×10-hour day schedule, with three days off per week. While based in Arlington, TX, the role includes part-time remote telework, with the specific weekly schedule discussed during the hiring process.
