Job Description:
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (LMMFC) in Lufkin, TX is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the THAAD Program. The Quality Engineer will be an integrated member of the design and production teams. Responsibilities include:
• Developing and reviewing: quality standards, methods, work instructions, and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products.
• Reviewing/approving documentation: related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure requirements are met.
• Working overtime: as needed, at the discretion of management.
• Utilizing lean initiatives: to reduce waste and drive affordability and efficiency within a culture of continuous improvement.
• Working with an integrated team: including customers, suppliers, and other functional personnel to identify, trend, and resolve non-conformances in a timely manner.
• Evaluating designs (electrical and mechanical): to ensure a producible product is proposed with processes in place for a smooth production flow.
• Interpreting drawings and specifications: to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods and translate them into work instructions.
• Applying decision-making and judgment: in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline from an accredited college.
Desired Skills:
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods and translate them into work instructions.
• Ability to apply decision-making and judgment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with effective presentation skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Security Clearance: A government security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is mandatory. The required clearance level is Secret.
