Purchasing Intern

This is a full-time, 10-week summer internship program designed to immerse students in the world of global electronic component procurement. Our Purchasing Interns work alongside a global team, gaining exposure to diverse commodities and understanding the complex process of getting components to their end destinations in products like computers, vehicles, medical devices, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor market pricing and adjust prices according to designated profit margins.
  • Strengthen relationships with vendors to ensure optimal pricing, lead times, and other crucial terms.
  • Learn the semiconductor ecosystem (including ODM, OEM, EMS, franchised distributors, brokers, etc.) through identifying and evaluating potential suppliers.
  • Navigate the CRM system to efficiently source, negotiate, and expedite purchase orders (POs).

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Industrial Distribution, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated time management and multitasking skills through active participation in extracurricular activities.

Program Details

  • Duration: 10 weeks
  • Dates: Monday, June 1st to Friday, August 7th
  • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday through Friday
  • Location: Fully in Office at 5306 Hollister Street, Houston TX 77040
