Job Description: Public Policy Internship (Summer 2025)

This internship offers students hands-on experience within one of TikTok’s Public Policy teams. The work focuses on navigating the complexities of Federal and State legislation and tech policy. Responsibilities include:

• Tracking relevant legislation at the Federal and State levels.
• Monitoring legislative hearings related to tech policy.
• Drafting memorandums and documents concerning Federal and State legislation and tech-related updates.
• Attending tech-related events.
• Assisting the Public Policy team in engaging with policymakers.
• Generally working with the Public Policy team to advance the company’s goals.

The internship is a 12-week commitment during Summer 2025. Interns will gain fundamental skills and explore potential career paths within the field. TikTok provides a supportive environment, including social events and development workshops. The role emphasizes collaboration and teamwork.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in public policy, political science, or a related tech-policy discipline.
• Ability to commit to a 12-week internship during Summer 2025.
• Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expected graduation date of December 2025 or later, with the intention of returning to studies after the internship.
• Strong responsibility and interpersonal skills; a team player who enjoys a collaborative work environment.

Compensation:

The hourly rate range for this position in Washington, DC is $36-$36. Benefits include day-one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, 10 paid holidays per year, and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in the first half of the year, 40 if hired in the second half). The company reserves the right to modify benefits.
