Job Title: Propulsion Design Intern (Summer 2025)
Location: Stratford, CT
About the Role:
As a Propulsion Design Intern at Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems, you will play a crucial role in designing and integrating aircraft propulsion systems. Your work will ensure safe and efficient solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations for mission success.
Responsibilities:
• Design and Integration: Model propulsion equipment and derive requirements for related sub-systems.
• Collaboration: Interact with Analysts, Material and Process Engineers, Test Engineers, and suppliers to drive designs to closure.
• Problem Solving: Utilize strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Familiar with Engineering Software Tools (3D/2D CAD).
• Basic knowledge of CFD and turbomachinery.
• Ability to work full-time on-site at the Stratford, CT facility.
• US Citizenship required.
Desired:
• Proficient with CATIA V5, 3DX, ANSYS.
• Ability to conduct pressure drop analysis from first principles.
• Experience creating tools to streamline complex engineering tasks (VB Macros, Python, Matlab, etc.).
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
