Job Description

Assists Project Managers, Program Managers and/or Project Controls staff with all aspects of the project management process. Assists with the planning, direction, supervision, and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned program, project, or subtask. Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the project execution.

NANA will provide lodging and transportation for applicants outside the Anchorage/Matsu Valley area. For more details, feel free to reach out! Internships will run from June to August with some flexibility based on individual availability.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee strategic projects and objectives, and/or services of broad significance to the company.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and leadership to team members about every aspect of the project so that the team members can understand their tasks fully and act on them efficiently.
  • Develop and execute an efficient internal communication strategy for ensuring communication with all levels of management within the team.
  • Plan, coordinate and manage the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects, including taking a leadership role in the preparation of proposals.
  • Ensure clear agreement of client objectives and that all project expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Participates in interviews and RFP processes for new work.
  • Assists estimating with bidding for future assigned projects.
  • Achieve or better the budgeted gross margin.
  • Promote strong HSE operational focus to project team, client, and subcontractors.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and company information.
  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Must be a shareholder of NANA Regional Corporation, Inc., or a direct descendant of a shareholder. In accordance with NANA’s Shareholder Preference Hiring Policy, priority will be given to NANA shareholders first, followed by shareholder descendants.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be currently enrolled in college or a vocational school full-time and have completed one semester of postsecondary education.
  • Be declared in a major/program of project management or project controls focused program.
  • Experience with Primavera, AutoCAD and/or other industry specific software is preferred.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, clients or employees of organization.

Math Ability

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Word, word processing software, and MS Excel spreadsheet software.

  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NANA’s vehicle insurance policy.
