Job Description: Project Intern – Commerce Data Science Team

The Commerce Data Science team focuses on maximizing the efficiency of commerce transactions through quantitative techniques like mathematical statistics and machine learning. The team also aims to build a diverse, inclusive, candid, and efficient working atmosphere, inviting data scientists to contribute to building a first-class commerce platform.

As a Project Intern, you will engage in impactful short-term projects, gaining practical, real-world experience and skills through on-the-job learning in a fast-paced environment. This role is designed to help you develop a deeper understanding of your career interests.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the daily statistical analysis of business data.
• Coordinating resources for tracking and in-depth analysis of abnormal situations.
• Assisting analysts in Data Insight and Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis to quickly locate internal problems or find opportunities.
• Assisting analysts in the construction and improvement of the Data Analysis system.
• Exploring business opportunities in terms of traffic, products, and strategies.

Internship Period:
• Successful candidates must be able to commit to at least 4 months long internship period.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
• Actively enrolled university student.
• Bachelor degree or above, with computer, statistics, mathematics, and other related majors preferred.
• Skilled in SQL, EXCEL, Python and at least one scripting language.
• Familiar with common data statistics and analysis methods.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Good communication skills, teamwork spirit, and initiative.
• Good logical thinking ability, business interpretation ability, and fast learning ability.
• Sensitive to numbers and passionate about Data Analysis work.

Compensation and Benefits (Campus Intern):
• Hourly Rate: $23.75 – $23.75 (in the selected city).
• Benefits: Interns have day-one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, and more.
• Paid Time Off: 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in the first half of the year, 40 if hired in the second half of the year).
• Housing Allowance: Interns not working 100% remote may be eligible for a housing allowance.
