Firm Account and Engagement Finance Services Specialist | Deloitte

The Tone:
This is a hybrid, full-time role at Deloitte, located in specific US locations requiring commutable distance to an office one day per week. Deloitte is a global professional services organization committed to helping clients navigate complex business challenges and drive impactful change. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health of large client engagements, providing essential financial analysis and operational support to consulting teams. • Mission: This role is responsible for helping consulting teams manage the financial health and operational processes of large client engagements.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaboration: Partner with project teams to manage budgets, track project financials, forecast revenue and expenses, and ensure projects stay financially on track.
• Reporting: Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support engagement leadership decision-making.
• Monitoring: Monitor project spending and support billing and collections activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communication: Communicate financial updates, insights, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
• Optimization: Help identify financial risks, process issues, and opportunities for improvement to enhance project quality and compliance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically demonstrating intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, coupled with a solid understanding of fundamental accounting and finance principles.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders, comfort working with large datasets and financial reporting tools, strong attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Experience working with a variety of contracting types such such as time and materials and fixed price, experience with different billing scenarios, or prior experience in a professional services firm.
