Project Finance Analyst I/II | Truist

The Tone:

The Project Finance Analyst I/II position is crucial for supporting the Project Finance division by contributing directly to the full lifecycle of complex financial transactions. This role ensures the seamless progression of deals from initial concept through execution, directly impacting the company’s growth in strategic asset classes and enhancing client relationships.

• Mission: Assist in the origination, structuring, and execution of Project Finance lease, partnership, and loan transactions.

What You’ll Actually Do
Transaction Assistance: Provide essential support across the entire transaction lifecycle, from origination and structuring to the final execution of Project Finance lease, partnership, and loan agreements, ensuring all aspects align with strategic objectives.
Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Project Finance Originations and Structuring teams to contribute actively to new business development initiatives, conduct thorough market analysis, perform comprehensive due diligence, and ensure effective deal execution in complex scenarios.
Client Documentation: Prepare and finalize various critical client-facing documents, including comprehensive pitch materials that articulate value propositions, detailed proposals outlining transaction terms, official term sheets, and crucial transaction screening materials necessary for deal progression.
Financial Modeling & Analysis: Execute sophisticated pricing runs using established methodologies, develop robust financial models to forecast outcomes, conduct in-depth return analysis to assess profitability, and perform comparable transaction and relative value assessments to inform strategic deal decisions.
Cross-Functional Engagement: Facilitate seamless coordination and communication with key functional and matrix partners such as Credit Risk, Asset Management, Portfolio Management, and Operations teams to efficiently process transactions, mitigate risks, and ensure an excellent client experience throughout the project lifecycle.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree; some related work experience since undergraduate graduation, demonstrating a foundational understanding of finance principles and a readiness to apply them in a professional environment.
• Experience: Proven analytical ability and meticulous attention to detail are critical for navigating complex financial data, identifying key insights, and ensuring accuracy in all transaction specifics and documentation.
• Skills: Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills for effective internal and external interactions, coupled with solid leadership and interpersonal skills to foster collaborative environments; proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where multiple priorities must be managed effectively.
• Bonus: 1 year of related work experience since graduation from an undergraduate program, indicating a further developed practical understanding and application of finance concepts.
