Position Overview:

Location:
While Kiewit’s Northern California District is headquartered in Fairfield, CA, the company’s culture dictates that teams go where the work is. Projects are scattered throughout the Northern California region, encompassing large cities and small towns. The exact job assignment location will be determined closer to the start date, taking into account available work, development plans, skill sets, and career goals. Ability to travel and relocate as business requires is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing field engineering, operation planning, and supervision of field activities.
- Executing engineering tasks requiring standard techniques and addressing minor technical problems during construction.
- Cost control, project scheduling, and quantity tracking.
- Material procurement and working with suppliers to facilitate handling and expediting delivery.
- Contract administration and estimating.
- Maintaining essential records related to job progress, costs, and material usage.
- Planning and scheduling specific job segments.
- Investigating problems and reported incidents, identifying, and recommending solutions/alternatives.
- Reviewing plans and specifications to determine material requirements (quantities and qualities) and pricing.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Ability to travel or relocate as needed.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer (approximately May-August).
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in a wide range of climates and environments.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
- Strong work ethic, committed to completing tasks correctly the first time.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
- Passion for safety, with the ability to contribute to a zero-harm environment.

Base Compensation:
$20.00/hr – $23.00/hr
