Project Engineer Intern – National Mission Critical Team (Data Center)
Ryan Companies is offering an exciting internship/co-op opportunity to join their National Mission Critical Team as a Project Engineer Intern. This role will support a significant Data Center project in the Lubbock, TX area.
Position Availability:
- Summer Internship (2026): May – August
- Spring Co-op (2026): January – August
- Fall Co-op (2026): May – December
Key Learning Opportunities & Responsibilities:
As a Project Engineer Intern, you will gain practical, hands-on experience and develop a foundational understanding of various aspects of large-scale construction projects, including:
- Working knowledge of financial management elements such as budgets, cost accounting, invoices, contracts, and change orders.
- First-hand understanding of critical job-site operations including coordination, scheduling, quality control, and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering/management or a closely related field.
- Must be within 18 months of graduating from their bachelor’s program.
- Ability to commit to working 40 hours per week for a minimum term of three months.
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
Candidates who possess the following qualities will particularly stand out:
- General knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control methods.
- Proficiency in performing mathematical calculations.
- Ability to effectively read and understand contracts, specifications, and architectural/engineering drawings.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Compensation:
- Hourly Base Pay Range: $20 – $25 per hour.
- The exact base rate may vary based on factors such as location, the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Position may be eligible for additional compensation, which could include commission and/or incentive programs.
