Project Engineer Intern – Summer 2026

Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction is currently seeking motivated and ambitious Project Engineer Interns for the Summer of 2026. This challenging internship provides an invaluable opportunity to become part of a focused, dedicated team and grow alongside experienced professionals.

About the Role

As a Construction Management and Civil Engineering Intern, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Project Management, Field Supervision, and/or Estimating departments on active construction projects, whether at a project site or a divisional office. You will work side-by-side with experienced Project Managers, Field Supervision, and/or Estimators, gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of the construction project lifecycle, providing an excellent environment for both academic and career growth.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing project document flow and ensuring proper organization.
  • Taking progress photos of job sites for documentation and reporting.
  • Assisting with the submittal review and approval process.
  • Supporting the Request for Information (RFI) process.
  • Contributing to the change management process.
  • Performing various other duties specific to each job site as needed.

Internship Schedule & Expectations

This internship runs from May to August 2026. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Please be aware that this schedule is subject to change based on project needs and intern availability.

Interns should most likely expect to work Saturdays and long days/weeks, typically ranging from 50-65 hours per week, including overtime.

Position Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Science, or Construction Management.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read construction drawings.
  • Dependable transportation is required.

Preferred: Past construction work experience.
