Job Description: Project Controls Planning Intern
As a Project Controls Planning Intern, you’ll join a team dedicated to providing planning and scheduling expertise across all Walt Disney Imagineering projects and disciplines. You’ll be involved in a wide range of tasks, including:
• Developing Comprehensive Project Plans: Assisting in the creation of implementation strategies, incorporating deliverables into schedules, and preparing project lifecycle and master schedules.
• Schedule Integration: Combining various schedules, including design disciplines, vendor contributions, production, and construction.
• Providing Project Oversight: Offering a comprehensive perspective on active in-field projects.
• Risk Management: Monitoring and evaluating project risks, developing recovery and mitigation plans to support schedule adherence.
• Earned Value Analysis: Performing earned value analysis as needed to track project progress and identify variances.
• Reporting and Presentations: Creating progress reports and management presentations to inform stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Help develop and manage project schedules using Primavera and other scheduling software.
• Assist in preparing project plans from scoping and strategy documents.
• Collaborate with division planners, contractors, and team members to define activity durations and logic sequences.
• Coordinate and integrate schedule inputs from internal and external project teams.
• Gather and organize project information.
Qualifications:
• Basic Understanding: You should have a fundamental knowledge of CPM scheduling, schedule logic (relationships and float analysis), and the basics of design, manufacturing, and/or construction.
• Preferred: Experience using graphic programs for presentations, familiarity with Primavera Project Planner, and a strong team-oriented approach.
• Education: Currently enrolled as a junior or higher, or recently graduated (within the past 6 months) from an accredited college/university with a degree in Construction Management/Engineering, Architecture, or Engineering.
Internship Eligibility:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter prior to participation in the internship program.
• Graduated from a college/university within the past 6 months.
• Currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship.
• Must be able to provide full work availability for the duration of the internship.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Possess unrestricted work authorization.
Location: Glendale, CA or Orlando, FL
Program Length: January – June 2025
Compensation: The pay rate for this role in Glendale, California is $30 per hour for undergraduate students, $35 per hour for graduate students.
