Job Title: Project Controls Intern
Location: University of Iowa Campuses, supporting infrastructure operations including steam, power, water, and chilled water services for campus and hospital facilities.
Role Summary: This internship offers a unique opportunity to support the local finance team with daily operations and logistics, gaining hands-on experience in project controls and infrastructure finance. Interns will learn from experienced professionals while building foundational skills.
Key Responsibilities (What You Will Do):
• Review and process financial processes, including purchase orders and invoices.
• Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials for various business tools, with financial software training provided.
• Help create dashboards and manage data control processes to enhance project management and decision-making.
• Support the deployment of internal control measures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
• Provide assistance with the consolidation and delivery of the budgeting and forecasting process to meet ENGIE planning and reporting cycles.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
Hands-On Experience Areas:
• Processing correspondence, purchase orders, and invoices.
• Supporting fuel tracking and reporting for power plant operations.
• Interacting with ENGIE staff, campus services, and vendors.
• Contributing to real-time problem-solving and seeing the direct impact of your work.
Requirements (What You’ll Bring):
• Minimum Education Requirements: Must be actively working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Enrollment: Must be an enrolled student at the University of Iowa.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Soft Skills:
• Solid organizational and time management skills to effectively support multiple tasks.
• Clear and professional communicator with the ability to manage written and verbal interactions.
• Ability to maintain accuracy across assignments.
Additional Details:
• Work Hours: Up to 20 hours per week while enrolled in an active semester; up to 40 hours per week during breaks (including Spring, Summer, and Winter breaks).
• Internship Work Term: August 2025 to December 24, 2025.
• Compliance: Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.
• Professional Experience Level: Junior (experience less than 3 years).
Compensation:
• Hourly Range: $22.50 – $32.50 USD hourly.
• Actual offered salary may vary based on factors such as geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
