Job Description
This job posting is for a Project Controls Analyst position at We Energies, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It offers the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work with on-site presence. The role is crucial for supporting WEC Energy Group’s substantial $13.2 billion electric generation capital investment plan, which aims to power economic growth and ensure energy reliability in Wisconsin, addressing an expected 20% increase in electric demand between 2025 and 2029.
This is part of a job family, encompassing Associate Project Controls Analyst, Project Controls Analyst, and Senior Project Controls Analyst, with the specific level determined by the candidate’s experience.
Job Summary:
The Project Controls Analyst is responsible for the cost and/or schedule management of projects of moderate scope and complexity. The role involves providing support to both field and department staff. Key duties include performing analysis and developing recommendations to address schedule and/or cost performance issues. Assignments may range from creating complex project schedules and preparing cost reports to analyzing data and generating ad-hoc reports for project management.
Job Responsibilities (Detailed):
• Overall Role: Manage project costs and/or schedules for moderately complex projects, providing essential support to field and department teams. This includes analyzing performance and recommending mitigating actions.
• Schedule Management:
• Develop and maintain resource-loaded project schedules.
• Proactively identify areas requiring mitigating actions to keep projects on track.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of schedule performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on schedule-related issues.
• Actively participate in schedule management discussions and provide recommendations that influence project decisions.
• Cost Management:
• Analyze various reports related to project costs.
• Engage in discussions with stakeholders regarding cost performance.
• Review actual costs incurred.
• Prepare accurate cost forecasts for multiple projects.
• Identify areas where cost-mitigating actions are necessary.
• Participate in cost management discussions and offer recommendations to influence financial decisions.
Minimum Qualifications (General):
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management is typically preferred for the Project Controls Analyst family.
Specific Minimum Qualifications by Level:
• Associate Project Controls Analyst:
• 0-2 years of relevant project controls experience (internship/co-op experience counts).
• 1+ year of experience providing engineering, construction oversight, project controls, or project management support for projects (college coursework may be considered).
• 1+ year of experience with various computer software. Preferred experience includes Primavera P6, PowerPlan, PeopleSoft, SAP, Work Manager (WMIS), Primavera Unifier, or Microsoft Access.
• Note: In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, 2 years of scheduling work experience will be considered.
• Project Controls Analyst:
• 2+ years of relevant project controls experience.
• 2+ years of experience with various computer software, specifically Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Preferred experience includes PowerPlan, PeopleSoft, SAP, Primavera P6, and/or Microsoft Access.
• 2+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, such as leading projects and/or teams.
• Senior Project Controls Analyst:
• 5+ years of relevant project controls experience.
• 5+ years of experience with various computer software, specifically Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Preferred experience includes PowerPlan, PeopleSoft, SAP, Primavera P6, and/or Microsoft Access.
• 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, such as leading projects and/or teams.
Additional Information:
• Application End Date: August 18, 2025.
• Pay Range: Minimum $66,898.00 – Maximum $132,708.94. The actual starting salary will depend on various factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business needs. It is uncommon for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the range.
