Job Description

General Summary
This is an assignment where the individual will assist a project team with the management, field construction activities, and documentation of a heavy civil construction project.

Essential Job Accountabilities
The core responsibilities for this role include:
Communicating with jobsite Foremen and Superintendents to understand field operations and provide support.
Establishing and maintaining working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, inspectors, and the local community.
Assisting with project environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Supporting the Project Engineer with approving timecards in HeavyJob, ensuring all equipment and employees are accounted for.
Assisting with verifying quantities in FIS (Field Information Systems) and logging them for cost and revenue tracking.
Helping the Project Engineer generate and distribute daily cost reports (trucking, labor, equipment) to the Project Manager, Foreman, and Superintendent.
Assisting with the completion of daily reports documenting both Granite and Subcontractor activities.
Placing necessary material orders, survey requests, and locates.
Maintaining a to-do list and diary.
Assisting with the calculations of yields for materials like aggregate and asphalt.
Touring the jobsite daily with the Project Manager and/or Engineer to verify claimed quantities and stay updated on overall job progress.

Education
A High School diploma is required, along with a minimum of two years of education from an accredited institution of higher learning. The discipline should be focused in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Work Experience
Previous construction experience is a plus but not explicitly required.

Physical Demands
The role requires the ability to talk and hear regularly. The employee frequently needs to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. Occasionally, reaching with hands and arms is required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 26 to 50 pounds.
