Programmer Analyst Intern

What you’ll do:

Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and support internal end-use tools/applications (e.g., CRM systems, financial systems, BI applications)
Enhance existing data models and code to improve functionality, business processes, and user experience.
Proactively understand functional business requirements and user frustrations for the applications you support.
Act as a liaison between business and technical stakeholders to analyze and validate requirements for changes to information systems.
Employ modeling and flowcharting techniques to propose IT solutions.
Develop pragmatic solutions without overengineering.

No matter the location of your internship, you’ll be equipped to own your experience and learn in a real-world setting.

Location:

This role is available at various locations across the United States, including:

• Greater Seattle Area (Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond)
• Greater Bay Area (San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara)
• Greater DMV (DC, MD, VA)
• Austin (TX)
• New York City (NY)
• Minneapolis (MN)

You can express your location preference during the application process, but finalization is subject to availability and business needs.

Basic Currently pursuings:

Experience with at least one modern language (Java, Python, C++, C#), including object-oriented design.
Experience in object-oriented design skills.
Experience writing clean code for basic data structures and algorithms.
Experience reading and understanding complex code.
Experience in root-cause problem solving.
18 years of age or older.
Commitment to a 12-week internship with a minimum of 40 hours/week.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Management, Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other equivalent discipline, with an expected conferral date between October 2025 – December 2028.

Preferred Currently pursuings:

Proficiency with relational database management systems.
Proficiency in debugging and testing application-level issues.
Ability to understand business objectives and how applications or tools achieve those objectives.
Strong communication skills.

Compensation:

The base pay for this position ranges from $29.90/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $76.88/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon also offers a total compensation package, which may include equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
