Programmer Analyst Internship at Amazon
This internship is a full-time position, requiring interns to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, typically between 8 am and 5 pm. Specific working hours may vary depending on the team and will be communicated by the manager.
Applicants should be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in:
• Information Management
• Informatics
• Information Technology
• Computer Science
• Computer Engineering
• Or another equivalent discipline.
Applicants must have:
• At least one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after the internship concludes.
• Experience with at least one modern programming language like Java, Python, C++, or C# (including object-oriented design).
• Experience with object-oriented design principles.
• Experience writing clean code for basic data structures and algorithms.
• Experience reading and understanding complex code.
• Experience with root-cause problem-solving.
• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Be able to commit to a 12-week internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency with relational database management system fundamentals.
• Proficiency in debugging and testing application-level issues.
• Ability to understand the business objectives of stakeholders and how applications/tools contribute to them.
• Strong communication skills.
Internship Program:
The internship program provides hands-on learning and building experiences for students. In addition to working on an impactful project, interns will have the opportunity to:
• Engage with Amazonians for personal and professional development.
• Expand their network.
• Participate in fun activities with other interns throughout the summer.
Job Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and support internal end-use tools/applications (e.g., CRM systems, financial systems, BI applications).
• Enhance existing data models and code to improve application functionality, business processes, and user experience.
• Proactively understand functional business requirements and end-user frustrations for supported applications.
• Act as a liaison between business and technical stakeholders to analyze and validate requirements for changes to information systems.
• Employ modelling and flowcharting techniques to propose IT solutions.
• Develop pragmatic solutions without over-engineering.

Compensation:
The base pay for this position ranges from $29.90/hr in the lowest geographic market up to $76.88/hr in the highest geographic market. Pay is determined by several factors, including market location and individual qualifications. Amazon offers a total compensation package, which may include equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.
