Job Description: Programmer Analyst Intern
This internship is a full-time position, requiring interns to work Monday-Friday for up to 40 hours a week, typically between 8am-5pm.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and support internal end-user tools and applications (e.g., CRM systems, financial systems, BI applications).
• Enhance existing data models and code to extend application functionality, improve business processes, and help end users work more efficiently.
• Proactively understand functional business requirements and address end-user frustrations for supported applications.
• Serve as a liaison between business and technical stakeholders to analyze and validate requirements for information system changes.
• Utilize modeling and flowcharting techniques to propose IT solutions.
• Develop practical solutions without over-engineering.
A Day in the Life:
The internship program provides hands-on learning and building experiences for students. In addition to working on an impactful project, you will:
• Engage with Amazonians for both personal and professional development.
• Expand your network.
• Participate in fun activities with other interns throughout the summer.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, C++, or C#) including object-oriented design.
• Experience with object-oriented design principles.
• Experience writing clean code for basic data structures and algorithms.
• Ability to read and understand complex code.
• Experience with root-cause problem solving.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to a 12-week internship maximum.
• Currently working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Management, Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent discipline, with an expected conferral date between October 2025 – December 2028.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency with relational database management system fundamentals.
• Proficiency in debugging and testing application-level issues.
• Ability to understand the business objectives of stakeholders and how supported applications or tools achieve those objectives.
• Strong communication skills.
Compensation:
The base pay for this position ranges from $29.90/hr in the lowest geographic market up to $76.88/hr in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon also offers a total compensation package including equity, sign-on payments, and a full range of benefits.
