Program Planning Intern Job Description

This internship offers an opportunity to work within Lockheed Martin’s Program Planning team, supporting the preparation and maintenance of program schedules and plans. Program Planners play a crucial role as trusted partners and strategic advisors within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with experienced Program Planners, performing day-to-day tasks related to program planning and scheduling.
• Learn and utilize industry software applications such as Microsoft Project, Deltek Open Plan, Milestones Professional, and Schedule Risk Assessment tools for scheduling analysis and metric generation.
• Participate in key program meetings, gather program status, update schedules, and analyze results.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to mitigate challenges and drive successful program performance.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience achieving team-oriented objectives.
• Experience developing and delivering presentations.
• Exposure to network scheduling tools (MS Project, Open Plan, Primavera, etc.)
• Knowledge of Critical Path Methodology.

Desired Skills:

• Schedule-oriented mindset.
• Advanced Excel skills, including macros, lookup tables, and VBA.
• Exposure to Monte Carlo simulations and Schedule Risk Assessment process/tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships.

Location: Grand Prairie, TX

Security Clearance: This position requires a government security clearance, therefore US citizenship is mandatory.

Remote Work: The selected intern will work part-time remotely and part-time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Schedule: Part-Time as assigned by leader.
