Program Intern, Energy Accounting | Pilot Company

The Tone:
This is a full-time in-person internship at Pilot Company, located in Houston, Texas. Pilot Company operates as an industry-leading network of travel centers with over 750 retail and fueling locations in 44 states and six Canadian provinces, supported by a significant energy and logistics division employing over 30,000 team members. This role directly supports core business operations by assisting the Energy Accounting team with monthly tie-outs, account reconciliations, and report generation. The intern will help reduce the team’s workload, increase delivery capacity, and contribute a fresh perspective to spark process and system improvements, ultimately fueling people and keeping North America moving.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Improve Operational Efficiency: Assist with monthly account reconciliations and tie outs to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and enhance operational efficiency.
• Generate Key Reports: Create and distribute crucial monthly reports to the team and management, providing necessary information for review.
• Contribute to Process Improvement: Bring a fresh perspective to existing processes, helping the team build upon and improve current workflows.
• Apply Analytical Skills: Learn and utilize analytical and accounting skills in real-world scenarios to solve business problems and deliver tangible results.

• Background: A student pursuing a degree with coursework in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: Demonstrated drive to reliably meet deadlines and a strong technical aptitude.
