Pay Transparency:

Program Overview:
This is a 10 to 12-week internship within BASF’s Environmental Engineering Professional Development Program. Interns will be immersed in Manufacturing and R&D teams, gaining hands-on experience and working on projects that support business objectives. The program emphasizes collaboration with seasoned professionals and gaining insights into environmental engineering processes and strategies.

Mobility and Location:
Applicants are expected to be mobile-minded and open to relocation, as placements may occur at any BASF site across the country. Key Areas of Impact (Potential Responsibilities):
Interns will engage in real-world responsibilities and problem-solving through immersive experiences, including:
• Working closely with talented engineers and technicians to gain experience with technical and scientific aspects of plant engineering.
• Learning leading manufacturing principles from mentors.
• Exposure to high-impact initiatives such as plant turnaround support, capital project implementation, engineering process design, asset effectiveness and reliability, and technical network presentations.
• Working on continuous assessment and improvement of engineering and business processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize productivity (e.g., implementing new technologies, redesigning/digitalizing workflows, adopting lean methodologies).
• Supporting environmental and safety compliance efforts, including participation in rigorous internal audits for process, occupational safety, and environmental standards.
• Contributing to sustainability initiatives in production and manufacturing, highlighting innovation opportunities in sustainable chemistry.
• Engaging in problem-solving involving organizing risk assessments, meeting daily production targets, designing scale-up experiments, or upgrading process equipment.

Qualifications (What BASF is Looking For):
Required Qualifications:
• Major: Student majoring in Environmental Engineering.
• Graduation Date: Between December 2026 and July 2029.
• GPA: Minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA.
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
• Relocation: Willingness to relocate anywhere in the country during and after the program, as all assignments are in-person or hybrid.
• Experience: Demonstrated previous leadership experience and academic achievement, along with active participation in extracurricular activities and on-campus organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous internship/co-op experience.
• Familiarity with tools such as PowerBI, Power Apps, and advanced Excel proficiency.
• Strong interest in the manufacturing or chemical industry.
• Project management experience.
