Job Description: Production Operations Technical Support
This position offers technical support for Production Operations at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control in Troy, Alabama. You will be involved in various aspects of missile production, including:
• Supporting the development and operation of automated test equipment: This involves working with machinery used to assemble, integrate, and test missiles.
• Creating and maintaining detailed test plans and procedures: You will be responsible for documenting the testing process for various components.
• Providing hands-on manufacturing floor support: This includes directly assisting with electrical/electronic component integration, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of military missiles.
• Developing and implementing root cause and corrective/preventive actions: You will analyze issues and implement solutions to improve manufacturing processes.
Key Requirements:
• Strong technical skills: You must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (Bachelor’s or higher). A deep understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and GD&T is essential.
• Problem-solving abilities: You will be conducting detailed failure analysis to determine root causes and implement solutions.
• Hands-on experience: You must be comfortable with hands-on assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, industrial, and/or home equipment and products.
• Communication and teamwork skills: The role requires clear communication with colleagues, engineers, and other team members.
• Flexibility: You must be able to work various schedules and shifts (first, night, and weekends).
• Security clearance: You must be a U.S. Citizen and obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• ATF background check: You must pass an ATF background check to obtain “employee possessor” status, which is required for handling explosives or other ATF-regulated items.
Desired Skills:
• Experience in manufacturing processes, electronic testing, factory automation equipment, industrial safety, technical writing, and teamwork.
• Ability to create and maintain CAD models and drawings.
• Familiarity with manufacturing software like DELMIA Apriso Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools.
